MORE THAN UI

INSIGHT. DESIGN. EXPERIENCE.

NEBULA

Brand renewal and online presence

Me and my tres hombres made something pretty good for this Finnish multitalented ISP.

WINDOWS 7 PHONE CONCEPT

So Nokia's Symbian is bitter sweet history and Windows 7 phone is the next big thing? I like to think so. The Windows 7 phone is really great, but the Metro UI alone doesn't quite cut it for me. I certainly hope that we'll see some scandinavian quality design in Nokia's phones. This feeling inspired me to add some Finnish look and feel by pimping the Metro tiles a bit and adding those lovely ANNA -icons. I also dropped out those redundant hardware keys from the phone, I think we all know by now that multitouch gestures work well.

ALWAYS ON, LOW POWER,
LET YOUR PHONE STAND OUT

Engadget said: “Nokia's cooked up a rather lovely and useful new app in its beta labs realm for all you lucky Symbian owners” I agree, go check it out...

Social Book Club

Ebook reading experience is bit non human, how to change that?

A year ago I remember reading Kevin Roses blog where he shared some great ideas about social ebook community. That really planted a seed inside me and I wanted to see what I could create from this idea. A few months later I finished my concept draft where you can see what your friends are reading and discuss about same books and taste.

NO FEAR

THE BOOK AND COMMUNITY

Leadership in the age of the digital cowboys. That's what my friend Pekka Viljakainen is signaling. In his book, he shares some unique thoughts about new age leadership. Pekka also wanted to build an online community to support and share his message. I was fortunate to work with him and together we present this great community. Why not give it a read and participate?

Concept VÄINÄMÖINEN / teaser

I teamed up with 3D artists Oula and Miika to create something amazing. I've had this idea for years to create a concept phone and give it my take on a modern smartphone user interface. I wanted to use desirable and simplified graphics, spiced up with photography. I also added some concept level ideas to the core applications, pushing for a well thought out GUI and some playful tricks.

The goal was to have fun and prove something to ourselves, but maybe we've ended up being too ambitious, doing things like 3D racing game graphics.

The final presentation style aims for the beauty of Finnish nature and the end format will be 60 second full-on TV-advert. Stay tuned.

Nebula’s print brochure

Illustrating internet-services is always challenging, to say the least. Once again I've worked closely with 3D artists Oula and Miika. We accomplished our goal and created pretty sweet illustrations for Nebula's ISP-services.

Finavia

Finavia is a service company that maintains a network of 25 airports in Finland and the air navigation system covering the entire country. I was given the opportunity to create the new look and feel for their website.

Logo and brand design

While creating the company's most important visual piece I managed to learn Jedi mind tricks and hard lessons about typography; it takes time!

Creative freedom

To stay on top of the creative game it's important, from time, to do some freestyle non-client designs. It's good to discover fresh ideas and break some mental barriers.
